Trip to White Rock Resort in Zambales

February 12, 2009

I was flabbergasted to discover that White Rock Resort near Subic was a pretty nice place to relax and shoo away those excess negativity of urban living. Flabbergasted, because the last time i was at a resort in Subic was when i was in college with my college friends, and the resort that we’ve been to was, to put it mildly, beyond acceptable. So, when we went there for an overnight stay after the New Year, just a short time to rekindle our connection with the sand and sea before we head up for the 2009 work load, i was delighted by the experience.

Our room was very nice. It has an LCD TV mounted on the wall, 2 single beds, a working airconditioning unit, a big-enough bathroom with shower, nicely painted walls with an art piece (!), a telephone line, and a sort of veranda to stay on and watch the beach and the sunset.

Although the beach sand is far from the powder white sand of Boracay (which i really frequently visit since we are partners with Friday’s Resort), the water is clean and well maintained. There were also, i think, three swimming pools inside the resort so if you feel that salt water is too much for you, you can take a dip in any of the pools which are all kept clean.

We had a buffet breakfast and the food was also alright. It’s not top-notch, but it’s better than the other resor ts I’ve ben too. There’s also a Bowling Facility, a Spa Service and ample parking space.

The experience was really very pleasant. Plus, we had a very nice time jumping around and taking lots of pictures with my friend Ron’s new Nikon DSLR. Then we had a sidetrip to the factory stores of Nike and Adidas; their prices are really low! Thank God i wasn’t tempted. Muntik na!

I have included the White Rock rates just in case you guys want to visit. They have very good packaged rates. It’ll be a perfect after-school vacation or classmates get-together venue on March. :)
