10 Amazing Artists in RedBubble

February 19, 2009

Redbubble is one of the best online communities for artists of different genres from all over the world. I have been fortunate to be a member of its community and i can attest that it is truly an online haven of amazing artists and people. The breadth of talent in the community is just never ending. Everyday, you see great work of arts from photography to graphics design/digital art to traditional art and even creative writing. It also has some of the warmest creative people, giving unselfish exposure to budding and promising artists; the opportunity that they give to every deserving artist is equal and unbiased, resulting to a more friendly and relaxed online atmosphere.

Redbubble has a wide variety of groups that cater to different genres and serve distinct purposes of their own. Thus, one could never feel that their art is being unnoticed and taken for granted. Each art work has a place; every artist could find a home.

And from one of these groups that these art works and artists were picked; works that i found to be beautiful and meaningful.

10 of Flickers Most Awesome Photographers (Found in the last 7 days)

February 13, 2009

Flicker is a treasure trove of great looking and professionally captured images. Photographs that tell a story, captured at that one elusive moment and flawlessly rendered in visual artistry. Everybody can take a photograph, but it takes great skill and eye for beauty and detail to preserve and immortalize a moment; this makes a truly great artist and elevates his skill into an art form.

These are ten of the most compelling photography/photographs that I have seen in Flicker.

ArtInSite Magazine Launch

January 27, 2009

Last January 17, we attended the Art In Site Magazine Launch at the Ayala Museum. The Art In Site Magazine is the first magazine for and by Filipino Artists from all over the world. Over 1,700 artists from different parts of the globe contributed two pieces of their art works and were included as covers in the actual magazine.

My contributions were my digital art works entitled I Surrender and Hope Is Innocent.

The magazines with the art works as part of the covers were priced at P3,000.00 while the regular magazines, P400.00. Some of the magazines were sold in the United States.

I was not able to see the actual magazine where my art works were included, they told us that they could have been included in the batch shipped to the US. What we saw were the artworks, including mine and Jun’s works, flashed on the big screen, so i guess that should be enough proof that our contributions were indeed included.

My only gripe was that they could have at least included the pictures of the art works, even in thumbnail sizes, in the inside of the magazine. That way, even if the works were not sold, they would have still been included. And that strange and painful thought of having our contributions end up in the trash can would be eliminated. I think that would be a fitting consolation for the artists, like me, who is happy to just see my work featured in the magazine.

But that’s just me.

Digital Art Prints for Sale

September 5, 2008

If you want to send out some really unique cards or if you’re into collecting rare and distinct conceptual digital art, great for hanging on your empty wall (its great looking on as a mounted or framed print), you may want to check out some of my most recent conceptual digital art works/photo manipulations available for sale in RedBubble, an online art community.

Some of these pieces have won in various online art competitions while one is included in a coffee table book of outstanding Art/s of varied forms which was published last month (my art is one of the 90+ art works featured in the book).

So please, if you have the extra moola, kindly purchase one, it would definitely help me in funding for a laptop which will enable me to do more work even when i’m not in my home (i’m doing freelance graphics and PR work, by the way). Alternatively, if you’re in a generous mood and you feel you could help out a third-world freelance artist such as myself, you may also click on the donate button (at the upper right hand corner of the page). Any amount would be tremendously appreciated.
