It is always a pleasant feeling whenever i find a great and meaningful movie. But sometimes, the opposite happens: this great and meaningful movie finds you, speaks to you; and you are taken aback, overwhelmed, affected, changed.
I did not plan to watch the Thai film The Love of Siam. I thought it was just another gay-themed film where the highlight would be that one hot love scene between the two male protagonist. I did not even think its worthwhile to watch; thus, for the first 30 mins of the film, i did not focus and went on to do my usual computer work.
Until it caught me.

One of the best, i mean THE best places to visit in the Philippines is Ilocos Norte. The place is filled with visual poetry and history. And we were so blessed to have been invited by my mom and my dad to experience it with them. My Dad Steen has a rest house in Pasuquin, just a few minutes from Laoag and that’s where we stayed for the two short days of our stay (our work schedule was really, really tight at that time but because of our desire to see Ilocos, we made a great and worthwhile effort to slip it in our schedule).
I and Jun left for Ilocos Norte at around 9pm via the Florida Bus Lines (they’re the pink and periwinkle buses) and arrived at around 6:30am the following morning. So thats roughly 9 hours of travel.

Last Saturday night, I and Jun together with some of our friends went back to Metrowalk’s Phi Bar to have a quickie night-out and to see Tribe of Levi perform (they’re a good R&B Band and i heard they have an album coming out soon). Good for you guys!
But we were a bit disappointed that two of the original band members (the ones we watched the first time we were there), the best looking guys of the band i must say, were absent (just absent? hmmm.. not sure. Still the music was good as the main vocalist was there. Dunno if he’s Levi though and the other band members, his tribe. Sounds too much of a sell-off so i suppose it aint something like that. Hahaha). So we just focused on our beer, margarita, and pinacolada (for me!). After a couple…. (we can’t drink heavily as we are bound to a Pampanga Roadtrip the following early morning! Talk about schedules!) we immersed ourselves into a very, very, very light dancing (consisted mostly of just wiggling around and pretending to be natural dancers).

It was supposed to be just another boooorrring Tuesday (15 July 2008) night for me until i remembered that we (I and Jun) had a scheduled RedBox night-out with our friends at the newly opened TriNoma Mall in Quezon City (near SM West). Yes, it was a Tuesday night and not one of us became concerned that it was just the beginning of yet another busy work week.
This is our first time to go karaoke-ing (thus our first time at RedBox) and our first time to go and inspect TriNoma and see for ourselves what the hype is all about. Needless to say, both experiences did not disappoint.
